Citation Tools

  • Easy Bib: An online tool that is easy to use. It is up to date with the latest edition of MLA style (7th ed.). You just need to be sure you enter the right information in the right place. A nice feature is the ability to edit citations.
  • End Note: A software tool you can download for free from Ball State. It integrates with Microsoft Word. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it is highly recommended by others.
  • Microsoft Word: The MLA formatting is out of date in Word, and I find the references tool more trouble than it is worth. I would avoid it.
  • Academic Search Premier: For articles you find through the database, there is a an easy-to-use and correct "cite" tool. The easiest tool of all.
